The Zimbabwe Football Association has appointed Norman Mapeza as the substative coach of the Warriors effective Wednesday.

Mapeza fills the position after controversy prevented zZIFA’s first choice appointee Belgian Tom Saintfiet from securing the post when he was denied a work permit by Zimbabwe's Immigration authorities.

Soon after Saintfeit's work permit was denied in November last year, Madinda Ndlovu was jointly appointed caretaker coach with Norman Mapeza who later threw in the towel and left Ndlovu to lead the team single handedly. Ndlovu has now been snubbed by ZIFA with the Wednesday's appointment of Mapeza.

Zifa Acting Chief Executive, Jonathan Mashingaidze tells Voice Of America's Studio Seven’s Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye, Mapeza will now start preparations for the Africa Cup Of Nations and will tommorow name a team that will play the Elephants of Mali.
